sorry really mean to ask about the 42 MM reflex sight. Anybody use this thing yet, and how does it compare to the original reflex sight???

I like the concept of the product but like the original reflex design it was really lacking, so was just wondering about this new size and design.

I think we did a much better job with the RX30 than the original. It's much brighter and is better in all lighting. I've been running one for quite a while, it's a great sight.

Bullitt: Will the RX30 or RX09 accept an ARD? Are there any ARDs for the RX30 or RX09?

Is the RX09 in the Aluminium housing as well?

Both are threaded for an ARD, I am not 100% sure if there is an ARD available that will fit though.

The RX09 is an aluminum housing.

I'm interested in this sight as well. I gave up on the Eotech due to my astigmatism needing perfect correction for a good sight picture. Would this be better?

Looks great, I love the fact you never need batteries and 42mm will make for a great sight picture. Just one question, any choice in smaller dot size coming soon? Only reason I haven't bought one yet.

It's not explicitly stated anywhere, but are the Reflex series waterproof?

Bullitt5172,

Is there a Larue mount that will work with one of the RX30 models?

Such as the RX30-25 (carry handle mount) with the Larue QD LT-105 (for the compact ACOG).

And do you think it will be high enough to co-witness with a sight tower?

Thanks in advance.

I've used both and IMHO the new RX30 is *much* better than the earlier Reflex series. Huge FOV through the optic, fiber optics are much better at collecting ambient light & tritium is very bright in lowlight/nolight situations. Reticle washout is still possible under certain lighting conditions but you have to work at it. Ex: Inside my blacked out garage with the side door open to bright sunlight (and the only source of light for the reticle) I had to stand more than 20' away from the door before the reticle faded out completely. It's even usable w/a taclight except at literally point-blank range against a white-colored target. I can still see how mud/debris could block the emitter thus eliminating the reticle but, again, you'd have to work at it. Not an Aimpoint-killer w/regards to ruggedness but a great KISS optic for those who dislike batteries, switches, intensity adjustments, etc. The only thing I'd change right this moment is the 6.5moa dot to a triangle or reticle (but it still suffices for all my shooting needs to 200yds).
HTH...

ETA: I was told an ARD for the RX30 is in the works.

If the Trijicon people ever read this stuff...

I prefer the chevron in RX09 or TA31.

Denny,

I was able to use a LT-100 mount with the RX30-23. You will need to machine a small amount of material off the right rear corner of the mount to clear the adjustment bolt.

I read this stuff every day ;)

ETA: I meant I am listening and we are looking into offering what you guys are asking for....the Chevron isn't as easy to create with the new fiber.

"I read this stuff every day"

Sorry, dude. I can't speak for anyone else, but when I think Trijicon I think Chevron.

That being said I'm trying to talk myself into the RX30 over the 09.

If this helps w/making your decision, I bought my RX30's w/ARMS QD mounts for $425 each shipped or you can get it w/the TA51 mount for $382.50 shipped.

Wow, RX30 at $425 vs Aimpoint M4s at $700+. I may have to start reviewing my choices for my next sight.

Bullitt: Couple of Q's

I think I'm over my fear of non-Chevrons. Now that that issue is squared away:

1) Any hopes of an ARD for the '30?
2) The way I keep seeing it sit on a lot of rails, does it still cowitness with most BUIS?

Number two could be a deal-breaker, number one is just icing on the cake.

1) I've been told by Trijicon reps that an ARD is in the works but no ETA yet.
2) With both the ARMS & TA51 mounts you get what looks to be about a 1/3 cowitness and that's what I see w/the MI flip-up BUIS that I use.

Thanks to both of you guys. I think all of you have me sold on this as my next optic purchase. Especially considering my newest blaster has naked rails.

Can you buy the RX30 in Digital Camo, or did you apply the finish yourself?
