Aside from Troy and the DD mk18 rail, who else makes a monolithic handguard in darkearth?

DD makes more than just the Mk18 in FDE now. I know the 7.0 Omega and some of the M4 rails are now available in FDE. There may even be others.

My understanding is that a monolithic rail is when the upper and rail are all 1 unit, machined together (like an LMT MRP and the one Vltor makes). Troy and DD make seperate rails, not monolithic as far as I know.

Correct. Look monolithic, but they are not. In fact, if you want to be technical about it, the only true monolithic one (i.e., made out of one piece) is the LMT MRP. The VLTOR VIS actually starts out life as 2 separate pieces, that are specially bonded together into a "monolithic" piece. From what I read, it's supposed to be just as strong, or even stronger, than the true monolithic one.

I actually meant monolithic look :) it would be nice if vltor comes out with a dark earth VIS.

I consider any rail system that creates a continuous top rail to be monolithic even if it is not technically accurate.

As stated not a true monolithic rail, I like my DD RIS II Mk18 rail.

The DD Mk18 rails are very nice I'm just contemplating whether or not the removal bottom rail for a M203 is worth the extra price as I don't see owning a M203 in the near future.

GotM4 what barrel length is that? And is the Mk18 rail 9"? It appears to be unless I'm mistaken.

I failed to notice the "monolithic" part of the request and was just thinking of FDE rails. :o

On topic, I think the Mk18 is 9.5" long.
