So I was putting the stock on my MKE AT-94K this morning (just got approval on Eforms), and noticed that I couldn't properly insert a mag. The paddle is stuck in a far-forward position and has almost no movement. The regular mag release button is almost bottomed-out against the receiver.
I don't know if the roller on the magazine release lever broke off or is merely cammed past the contact piece. It worked fine the last time I was shooting, so it was rather shocking that it wasn't right when I picked it up.

How do I go about diagnosing & fixing this? I have no problem supporting the receiver and punching out the pin that holds the magazine release lever, or removing the roll pin from the push button if that is the right thing to do. There appears to be some type of glue on the end of the pin, visible in the top picture. However, this is my first HK type and I was looking for some guidance before I create a bigger problem. Thanks in advance.

It's hard to tell in a picture, but it looks to me the flappy paddle is hitting the receiver. Center of the paddle (as viewed in the second photo), right side as I look at the picture.

I would disassemble and then reassemble the release. It looks like ti is either the spring bunching up or the release tab is stuck.

Once I figured out what I was looking at, I was able to determine that the magazine release lever was intact. It was just rotated past the contact piece.

I then took a roll pin punch and removed the clamping sleeve and push button. That allowed me to slide out the magazine catch slightly, use a brass punch to push the contact piece over, and rotate the magazine release lever into position. Everything functioned as it should.

It did not take much force on the magazine release lever to recreate the problem. I'm going to replace the magazine catch, spring, contact piece, push button, and clamping sleeve with HK parts to see if that is a permanent fix.

I would like to replace the magazine release lever with HK as well, but I need to figure out if the paddle release bushing is welded in place. My concern is that the bushing is welded in place for legal reasons.
