So I currently live in North Carolina. I'll be living her for about another year or more before moving to South Carolina.
I'd like to get my Concealed Weapon permit.

My concerns are what do I do when I move to SC? Do I have to retake the class? What about finger printing? I did that in the MIL years ago. Im sure I have to reapply and pay the state fee for the license when I get an SC driver's license.
Is there a way to avoid paying for another $150 class and and 8 hours of my day?
Should I just wait?
I can't really find any real information on the topic. There are a few threads out there on other forums that instantly desolved into worthless info and irrelevant conversation.
Help and advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Have you looked up SC requirements?

Just says proof of training. Down here you can take the same class with people from North or South Carolina. It just counts towards the state you take it for. If I take the class and sign it for NC I don't know if that voids the whole thing when I need litterally that same class for SC.

This website is very informative for everything, also contact SC directly, I like to have a printed email of a high level official so that if I ever run into a LEO who isn't quite up to date on the rules

(4) "Proof of training" means an original document or certified copy of the document supplied by an applicant that certifies that he is either:

(a) a person who, within three years before filing an application, successfully has completed a basic or advanced handgun education course offered by a state, county, or municipal law enforcement agency or a nationally recognized organization that promotes gun safety. This education course must include, but is not limited to:

(i) information on the statutory and case law of this State relating to handguns and to the use of deadly force;

(ii) information on handgun use and safety;

(iii) information on the proper storage practice for handguns with an emphasis on storage practices that reduces the possibility of accidental injury to a child; and

(iv) the actual firing of the handgun in the presence of the instructor;

(b) a person who demonstrates any of the following must comply with the provisions of subitem (a)(i) only:

(i) a person who demonstrates the completion of basic military training provided by any branch of the United States military who produces proof of his military service through the submission of a DD214 form;

(ii) a retired law enforcement officer who produces proof that he is a graduate of the Criminal Justice Academy or that he was a law enforcement officer prior to the requirement for graduation from the Criminal Justice Academy; or

(iii) a retired state or federal law enforcement officer who produces proof of graduation from a federal or state academy that includes firearms training as a graduation requirement;

It looks like the training requirements may be reduced if you provide a DD214. Can any current South Carolinians elaborate on this?

That same provision was written into AZ CWP it was pretty straight forward just send a copy of the dd214 with the rest of your paperwork In lieu of a 3rd party training certificate.
