Hey ya'all

I hope GD is the right place for this.

I have 3 small children in the house so an unsecured weapon is a big no no.

Right now I have a basic gun vault with a pistol in it next to the bed. I want to upgrade to a quick entry safe that will hold the following:
1) standard service pistol
2) flash light
3) M4 (14.5" maybe with mini suppresor attached)
4) 1-2 extra mags

Was thinking something I can stand up in a corner maybe?

Anyone have any reccomendations?

Thanks
Amur

No experience with these, but I've had my eye on them, or something similar for a while:

And here's an article on the first one:

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the first one.

And here is so more info based on the above:
1. I do not trust biometric so prefer code based
2. I like #1 because it seems slightly less bulky than #2. I like svelt!

This looks like a compact solution if you just want something for your AR:

Interesting. Based on the layout of my house I don't want to have to walk to my closet as it is not that close to my bed and I don't want that level of exposed rifle in my bed room. So that's probably not a good choice for me but thank you for the suggestion.

Wow that 1242 RLS is really really slick. That might be exactly what I need. Not sure how I feel about magnetic keys though. What if you can find the key in the moment of need? I like it a lot though.

V-line 42" x 12" x 3.5" quick access rifle safe:

Mechanical code lock, no keys to loose or electronics to power.

I know you said you didn't want it displayed, but this is pretty badass:

If you have a metal bed frame, it could be attached to the side or underneath, and be in your hand before you get out of bed.

My thought (I don't have one yet) is that I would keep it locked up when I was not in the room, and have it unlocked when I went to bed.

I think the 1242 RLS might be new or I haven't seen it yet. The only reason I don't have one is because I rent in a house with plaster and lathe and the work to do the inserts is just too much PITA, even though the landlord said he didn't mind as long as it looked good when I left (which would pretty much mean leaving the insert in place). The 1242 just jumped to the top of my wish list.

That is pretty slick. Seems like someone could still "fiddle" with it when you weren't around though, ie take a suppressor off, push controls, etc.

I just posted this in the handgun forum, as the cabinets he has on his website are more geared toward a pistol, but he does do custom work as well. He probably can't make a custom enclosure as cheap as the mass produced stuff, but it would probably be exactly what you want. As Sensei pointed out, this option won't provide fire protection though.

I think the corner cabinet/safe from Sentry Safe would be ideal. Locks up your AR and gives you a spot for a pistol, and gives you a tray on top for phone, light, etc...

If under the bed is an option, you might consider AmSec's Defense Vault (http://www.amsecusa.com/gun-safes/defense-vault/).
