Greetings,
I purchased a Larue PredatOBR in 7.62 w/16" barrel. I have some questions in regards to ammo.

LaRue told me on the phone that surplus brass case ammo like DAG or Radway Green should NOT be used. Only premium US made match grade ammo can be used in this rifle. I was wondering if anyone has used BRASS cased surplus ammo in a Larue rifle?

Also, have you used Gen 3 PMAGS? Do they function well with the longer 168 grain bullets?

Any help appreciated.

They probably say this so no one complains about a lack of accuracy from their rifles with surplus/bulk ammo.

It is finicky with ammo, even more so when you add a suppressor (only likes certain models). You should be fine with brasses case m80, m118 or m118LR. But in all honesty you paid a premium you should feed it premium pills.

I can load 175gr Gold Medal Match and 173gr M118--both feed with no issues in 10 and 25 round M3 PMAGS

My OBR loves surplus Portugese 308.

I have a PredatAR 762 - not exactly the same. But it runs superbly with 147 ball ammo. Mostly I use Magtech and in a weekend course had no issues with it. I've also used the LaRue steel mags and Magpul mags with 147, 168, and 175 - again, no issues.
