I've been using the Short Action Precision sling for several months now. I use the same sling on several rifles, gotta love QD studs. To me, it provides a great mix of old school constricting style (1907 type), with newer materials and engineering. Very quick to get in and out of, and very intuitive to adjust tension for different positions.

Other options to consider are the FTW sling and Armageddon Gear. They all share similar features.

I have a couple different versions of the slip cuff sling and they work great. Gives the option to utilize the sling for support without a separate cuff and has quick adjust for across the back carry.

I'm running the short action precision sling on one and a TIS slip cuff on another. Both are very solid slings for shooting. Both are on 15+ lb rifles.

However I do find both lacking for comfortably carrying a rifle while hunting. Ideally I would love to see a beefed up version of the vtac for precision rifles. It would obviously be a compromise but would serve me well for a sling that would give me a comfortable carry method with quick accessibility, while providing a solid shooting aid.
Depending on the weight of the rifle and your intended uses the vtac could serve you very well.

I'm old school... I have 1907 service rifle slings on most of my long guns, including my bolt action.
