I recently finished my rifle (okay, more like about 6 months ago) and finally got around to building up a solid load for it. I started with some 55/62/68/75gr variations, and none of them actually seemed to group worth a damn. Barrel is a WOA 1:7 midlength.

On a whim I picked up some Hornady and Sierra 52gr bullets and loaded up some testers.

The Hornadys did not cooperate, not grouping worth a damn, but the SMK's just wanted to stay together.

The test loads were 24/25/26gr of H4895 and the best result of that was a five shot group at 100 that measured 0.98" ring to ring.

Benefit to me here is that I already used H4895 for my 1891 Argentine in 7.65x53. Two birds, meet one Stone.

The 52 grain sierra MatchKing has shot well from just about every AR-15 barrel that I've owned. The 10-shot group pictured below was fired from a distance of 100 yards from one of my Krieger barreled AR-15s. The group has an extreme spread 0.722".
