Both are rattle can painted and both have been used. Nothing extreme, no hard falls or using them to chop bamboo in Tennessee. Just classes and whatnot. I'll leave the index clips on them just for good measure. I would strip the paint but I'm in a condo and painting is easier than un...painting.
