Here is my latest Ar15 build, this time for my girlfriend (Top Rifle). I have a Ciener .22 kit installed in it. For now I salvaged my Bushmaster xm15 lower to use on it and I put an A2 stock on it since she wants me to duracoat it pink eventually. If not I will have to find a lower receiver that matches it since it has a purplish hue. The rest of the parts will be complete guns or used on various other projects of mine. The Super Sniper is waiting on my .50 cal upper. The entire gun with optics and bipod will end up costing less than $700.

20" Armalite chrome lined 1/9 twist HBAR
Bushmaster T marked flat top upper receiver.
Armalite 1" 1 piece Scope Mount
Tasco 6 - 24 x 40mm Target Scope with Mil-Dot and Turrets
Harris BR Bipod 6"-9"

Any polite Critiquing is welcome.

Here is it above the one I finished a few weeks ago.

In all honesty, I couldn't pass up some of the deals I got, but she is a serious shooter, that needed her own rifle badly. For one, she sure could eat up some .223 and .308 ammo, so she should pay for the rifle in savings shooting .22lr instead, and secondly I don't like sharing my rifles with anyone lol. She goes shooting almost every time I do, and many times asks me when we are going to go again. I think I lucked out with this one.

Here are some pics of her the first time she ever went shooting. Ignore the date, it was sometime about a year ago.

I started her off on my xm15

She was hitting bulleyes within 10 rounds

http://www.skyunlimited.net/rifles/ar15_shooting2.jpg

Sadly for me, she fell in love with the M1A until I built this rifle just for her. I had to keep her away from shooting up my .308 and .223, but it is a small price to pay to have a women that looks great and stands behind me at the gunshow saying buy that buy that.

You can never complain about a woman who, not only likes to shoot, but wants her own rifle. Mine is just now getting comfortable enough shooting handguns that I recently purchased a G19 for her, and she loves it. We're working her up to the M4's.

Good move on the .22 LR as well. Keeps her out of your stash. :D

Man, My wife is so ready for me to start building her rifle. She wants an ar-15 so bad. She loves my AR, but wants one of her own.

Good job keeping the little lady happy!!

It's very cool she's taken to shooting, you do need to get her some shooting glasses.

I'm lucky to be blessed with a wife that is a shooter too, this is her shooting her .50cal.

Wow, I talked my wife out of getting the .50 cal. I didnt really have that much to spend anyway.

Here is the only pic of my wife shooting my gun that I have here at work. This was this past weekend on her parents property. Sorry for the crappy pic. We forgot the camera and had to use the cell phone.

My lovely wife is a shooter NRA member and has her own AR and Colt Cobra 38spl handgun. She had her lower receiver etched by Jon at Anvil Arms to personalize it. The helicopter represents her job as a flight nurse on a EC-135 or a BK-117 helicopter. The FlyNr is her moniker aka flying Robyn and is also the name of our mini ranch. Her full name is etched onto the side of the pistol grip mounting stud, which of course in not visible unless you take off the pistol grip. The caduceus also know as the wand of Hermes above her trigger is an inside joke that really does not have anything to do with medical treatment. She loves blasting gallon jugs filled with colored water and out dated cans of diet Pepsi. For her birthday I am getting her an Aimpoint sight.

Y'all are lucky. Mine went shooting and hunting with me until her first pregnancy c. 1989.

Once the hook was firmly set she hasn't touched a trigger or gone afield since. should have got a prenup with minimum round count/days afield.

It is a big ordeal to try to get her to wear shooting glasses lol. Last week, I told her she couldn't shoot my reloads unless she put on the glasses. Well she said the muffs cut the glasses into her head/ears, so I told her to wear plugs instead and she said the shots were to loud. She teared up for a little while lol out of frustration she couldn't shoot.

When it's running 22 LR it shouldn't be loud enough to need more than earplugs.

Well at the time, she was wanting to shoot my .223 reloads. She swaps out the bolts and fires a few .223 to help clean out the bore. Since I am usually shooting beside her, she probably is bothered by my shots even if she is shooting .22lr.

no need when rec shooting unless you are also the type that wears full protective gear when you ride too; save that gear for the race! Now going through 2K rounds during training...sure thing. Too many stifflers in the shooting scene? probably...

Totaly understandable when it comes to the liability clause at a gun range but when you are hunting you don't wear eye and ear protection so no need to wear it when I practice light. I still have eyes and ears today so I must be doing something right...

Just make sure and not to get stuck on the protocols of Protecting yourself so much and forgetting to understand the concepts of safety 1st; like this guy: http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q198/RallySoob/rule_5.jpg

Look into getting her a Surefire EarPro Defender PLUS earplugs. I used to have to wear both ear plugs and ear muffs to shoot my SBR (which is why I bought a suppressor). Now, this is all I wear.

Here it is: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=23976&title=EARPRO%20SONIC%20DEFENDERS

Make sure you get the PLUS (triple flanged).

She doesn't like the m4 stocks, and wanted to use the A2 stock until I found her a good deal on a stubby one. I won one on gunbroker a few weeks back and should be arriving any day now. I am also swapping out her upper with an 18 inch upper with a quadrail. The rail is to thick for her, so I am going to mount a vertical grip on it. Then she wants the Stubby stock, rail covers, and maybe the vertical grip painted pink.

unless I'm reading this wrong, I believe you are saying you DON'T need eye pro at the range? I hope not....

and for the record, I DO wear ear pro while hunting. I wear the same glasses I wear everyday with ANSI lenses. I also wear the same shooting muffs I always use to shoot - electronic Pro Ears - and I find they improve my hearing in the woods allowing me to hear sounds I would have missed without them. several times I've been alerted to animals moving around me that I would have missed without them.

and now, I admit to and encourage you also to wear full protective riding gear EVERY time you get on a motorcycle! that means full-face helmet, boots, gloves, at a minimum. and some kind of protective jacket and pants if you're smart...

you don't have to be moving more than 10 miles per hour (parking lot speed) to perforate the cranium or at a minimum, cause permanent injury or disfiguration. stupid hurts...

I wear eye/ear protection where it is needed/required
that would be every time you pick up a loaded firearm with the intention of firing it? it should be. I'm not going to try to point out all the things that can go wrong with firing just one round with no eye protection but it's such a simple thing to do with no downside, as compared with not doing it which can have catastrophic permanent results that it makes less than no sense to do so. so, what's the point???

Stupid does hurt... i.e. You look pretty stupid in full riding gear and it will hurt your game. sounds like lonely nights at the dunes to me... what "game" would that be? I've been riding for 35 years, currently have 6 motorcycles of various makes and purposes, even tried my hand at amateur roadracing and got pretty good at it for awhile. I still ride - a conservative estimate - over 25K/per year, year round in all temps and weather, and religiously practice ATTGAT (All The Gear All The Time), and the folks I ride with all seem to think I've "got game" when it comes to riding.

what's your "game" that is hindered by being smart? if your only criteria for wearing protective riding gear is how it makes you look, well, I stand by my first statement - stupid hurts. I'm guessing you ride, what... a harley?

and I don't get your reference to "lonely nights at the dunes"...

Let it go, ra2bach. RallyNoob is obviously immortal, and he doesn't need any protective gear for anything. In fact, I'm sure he's bulletproof.

And RallyNoob is right: it's about how you look, and nothing is more cool than a squid on a bike with no protective gear, or somebody wearing an eye patch forever because he didn't wear safety glasses while shooting, not to mention how chicks dig the scars from the skin grafts to fix bad road rash.

Let's just hope that RallyNoob also seen through all the hype and knows that he need NOT wear his seat belt while driving (or at least, only "when needed or required"). Oh, and condoms don't look cool, either, so don't use them.
