Alright guys, I'm looking into replacing my current VP9 sights with a better option. I have the non LE version, and although I shoot it very well, it's just not the prefered sight setup for me. I've seen the thread on the VP9 heinie ez lock ledge sights, but was not sure on POA/POI and would like to have a 3 dot tritium setup, not sure if those are available with those sights. I'd also like the rear sight with a ledge for one handed manipulation as this is my daily carry gun.

I know with my current sights, it's a "shoot the dot" setup, so to speak.

I'd like to achieve the sight picture in image #2 below.

Does anyone know of sights that would fit the bill for what I'm looking for?

Thanks!

Not 3 dot. But quality sights, and the alignment you're looking for.

I'm very happy with straight-eights on my VP9!

I'd say pick the ledge style rear sight of your choice (not many choices admittedly) and then match it with the stock front sight to see where it hits. Once you determine the difference in POI vs POA and corresponding front sight height change, order a front tritium sight from Dawson Precision of the correct height to bring the POA=POI you desire.

So, #3 on the diagram is how just about every sight (aftermarket included) is going to be made for a HK. Hennie is going to be just about your only option for your choice of sights for a 6 o'clock hold, but a 3 dot won't be in that equation . There is another company that makes a fiber optic front sight in various heights and the name is escaping me right now. You could play with 2 dot rear and different MFG front.

Maybe HKfreak will jump in and help my memorym

EDIT FOR STUPIDITY: Coal Dragger has the answer.

Thank you. Although not 3 dot, I think these would be worth trying. Don't know how I didn't see those.

I may try the mix matched front and rear option as well, as I know there are factory height 2 dot rear sights with a ledge. I'm assuming the front would be a shorter height than factory to bring POI up with a factory rear.

Your standard VP9 front sight is likely a 6.3mm
A shorter front sight will raise your POI.
An OEM HK 5.9mm front sight should achieve the POA / POI you're looking for.
My understanding is that each .2mm increment adjusts POI by 2" at 25m.

I can tell you that my Trijicon HD sights made it so that my VP9 point of impact was about 2" lower than my point of aim at 14yds. The factory Meprolight tritium sights were dead on with Sight Image #3 as shown above.

I ended up putting the Mepros back in and just blacked out the rear dots with a Sharpie marker. Easy to clean off later if I want.

What I'm waiting for is 10-8 Performance to get their HK VP9 rear sights back in stock with the .156" rear notch.

I literally just finished installing orange Trijicon HDs with nothing more than an 8 oz. ball peen hammer, a brass punch, and a $30/10 year old vice. It took about 30 minutes to drift out the factory sights, clean and degrease the dove tails, then drift in the new sights. No fitting was required, which is always very nice, and I took my time. I taped up everything with painters tape and made the hits with the punch really count. I did notice a little galling in the rear dovetail, but I'm not worried about it. I will try to get to the range soon, but at first blush the sights are worth the ~$150 investment.

I have the stock Mepros (LE Model) on my VP9 and didn't care for the "shoot the dot" configuration either. A .150T tritium front from Dawson Precision gives me sight picture #2 which I prefer. I "Sharpie" out the rear dots. I'll probably swap out to a 10-8 rear when they're available again.

Which sight picture do they give you?
