View Full Version : Attn colt guru's. Need some help
Ok colt guys. Picked this rifle up unfired in the box. According to the serial number look up its a 6920 mfg date 1998 And that's the config that it's in. Now. The kicker. It's got the government restricted roll marks. On the one side. And M4le on the other side. Which from what I'm told would be found on the 6921 nfa rifle. Is this a mis mark? Rare? Possible value. Any other info would be good335963359733598
I believe this was done on the 6921 and 6933. The deal killer is that it uses the offset pin.
I had a 6940 (one with built in monolithic rail) that has it.

You had one with the m4le mark?

If it's worth anything. I don't plan on shooting it. Almost 20 years old and unfired for a reason
Trash ! Dude do yourself a favor and send it out to me, I will even pay shipping for ya :p
Looks like a basic LE gun. Nothing special.
I don't understand why people buy a Colt and not shoot it. (I shoot my 6920 every other week)
A friend of mine (Deputy Sheriff) has that same carbine for a duty weapon and he has ran it in through several classes with no issues.

It's not quite a basic. They don't normally have the m4le mark above colt defense. If I didn't have 18 other ar's in different configs and calibers id shoot it

There are a lot of Colt's out there with that roll mark.

Thanks split66
The lower is from a LE6921 or a LE6933 that is a post ban assault weapon. It is a late 1990s/Early 2000s era gun.
It might be drilled for a front pushpin.

The Lowe came from the factory as a 6920 though.

How do you know this for sure? Do you have the factory box?

Yes as stated in the original post. Factory box with all paperwork. And when you search the serial number it's listed as a 6920

What does the end label on the box say? Is it handwritten?
Looks like it is also has the .170 FCG.
Yes it's a big pin trigger group.
The deal killer is that it uses the offset pin.
This is not the offset pin. It is a mil spec diameter front pin that is retained by a left side screw, instead of the detent. These were found on Blue label Colts, some of which were drilled for the detent/spring, others were not. I have a blue label 6551 that was drilled for the detent/spring and it was a simple swap to add the correct parts.
I emailed pics and all info to rock island auctions. Their experts put a value between $3500-4000. Which is almost 3 times what I paid

That's awesome! Are you going to sell it and buy one that is practical?
Very nice find, it will do well in your collection.
Pretty cool find. Congrats
