I'm beginning to regret buying 2# today, considering reading of it's temp sensitivity. I'm hoping for a bit more accuracy than TAC, and thought I'd give it a try...

It also meters like crap.

I have had some good luck with AR Comp if you happen to come across any of it. I have only used one pound of 15 and while I did not have any real problems with it I have heard of the temp sensitivity issue. I used it during the winter so it was not an issue for me.

It is a very versatile powder in 556 and 308. Also some large caliber cases like 450 Dakota! I throw w a powder measure and then pour that charge into the scale, so weigh rather than volume.

I've used RL-15 in a lot of loads. Found that it's one of the best powders for Mk262 clone loads, as well as a good powder for several .308 match loads.

I am with Alpha-17.

I hunted in Africa with 450 Dakota using a case full of RL15, and one day shot elephant and another buffalo at verified 105 and 120 degrees F. I can show you picture of my primers, they look normal!

I developed the loads in pacific NW at probably no more than 65 degrees, and likely less than that. RL15 and Varget are go to powders for 556 and 308 match loads. It might not meter like water but don't disregard it for that. I have uesed it with 62 grain TTSX, 64 Nosler Solid Base, and 75 grain Hornady in 556. Never had pressure issues up to 100 F. In 308 168, 175 SMK Im getting around 2640-2670 and excellent accuracy. Even faster w 168.

But am I going to get 2700 fps out of it, keeping under moa?

I'm getting 2800 fps and excellent accuracy w 75 grain Hornady, about 50 fps less than BLC-2 but more accurate. 100 fps less than CFE223 but RL15 and Win 748 are much more accurate. At long range (past 600 yards) I am using higher velocity loads rather than super accurate ones at 2800. Dont know about the 77's. Have not tried reloading them. My current 1000 yd load is 75 Hornady at about 2920 fps. Id just work up a load you like w RL15 and not look back. You could burn up alot of powder, bullets and primers trying to beat it.

The people that use it, love it. It's crazy temp sensitive, but if someone gave me some, I'd shoot it for sure.

I use it for .308. 42.2g behind a 168 SMK is a great sub MOA load but even using my electronic feeder with the straw mod I have to feed low and trickle the rest in.

I maxed it out on the published data, and came in right around 2700 and got a 5 shot sub-MOA grouping. Three rounds were touching. Never able to duplicate that grouping, but that's probably more on me/my set up than the load it's self. RL-15 has been extremely accurate in my experience.

BL-C(2) is temp sensitive too and I shoot max. 5.56 loads from 50 to 100 degrees with no pressure issues, sometimes through the chronograph too. One big tip is not to let the ammo sit in the direct sun which something I avoid with all ammo.
