I've noticed a lack of love and attention for the XD series of pistols here. I was curious why? I have a XDm 4.5" in .40 and love it. Have over 2000 rounds through it without any problems. Some may say it has a high bore axis but so do Sig & H&K. Also it doesn't seem to slow Rob Leatham down. Powder River Precision offers trigger kits just like Apex does for the M&P. Some may say that with dry firing the striker retainer pin will break. Mine hasn't yet and I've dry fired alot but PRP offers stronger pins for that. XDm's seem to have the highest standard capacity magazines also. Lots of after market support. So why the Hate or lack of love?

I just bought my first XD series pistol two weeks ago - XDs 3.3" in 9mm. My stable of polymer pistols until this purchase only included Glocks and an HK45C. This particular single stack version fit the bill I was looking for this type of pistol. I was only considering the Glock 43 and S&W Shield until I stumbled on this one - leaning heavy toward the Glock 43 but, of course, they are hard find because they are new. Found I really like this Springfield. I like the fit in my hand, features for the price, price in general, and while silly, the look. It has been a great shooter so far with no hiccups.

The main reason I have stayed away from Springfield in the past is lack of aftermarket parts vs. Glock, price and availability of mags, and I like the more streamlined appearance of a Glock.
