850 Tex Shoemaker open top magazine pouches – Class A @ $50

Can't find a link...wonder what the difference is. Finish? Open top though, good for them.

That's a pretty sweet deal.

Must be gloss and regular finish. I couldn't find them on the manufacturers site though.

Good for Sig. Also happy to see more cops with open top mag pouches, that half second can mean a lot in a fight.

That's a pretty sweet deal.

Over $500.00 in holster gear, essentially free, with a minimal charge to change guns.

Am, I reading it right: SIGs basically gives away pistols for free, to build customer reference list. Is that right?

Better them than me.
Not on the 320 wagon and have been over Sig for quite a while.
The ONE item I wanted, the SSG 3000, they discontinued.

I sort of agree on the open top holders. Some 'management' thinks they look sloppy or militaristic(wtf).
Oh well. Good luck with it.

Why aren't you counting the value of the trade ins for you final total? They have real value. They go on the balance sheet as an asset, and they're being sold out.

They're not the only ones. S&W cut some amazing deals with initial release of the M&P to a couple of large Mid-Western agency to get M&P's in the filed. They recoup their loss by sales to numerous smaller agencies, using the larger agency as a selling tool. "It just got selected by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol". Then you add the increase of civilian sales of your product because it is being picked up by the major Le agencies.

Think where the M&P would be with civilian sales if it had not caught on in LE?

Sig is starting to dig into the Glock. Good job. 320 is a good gun and they have the right idea for business. This is not the same Sig that was pimping every rainbow and diamond plate gun. I am happy they are coming back to what they were.

I don't have to count it. It was already factored into the purchase order. A remarkable value. Look for some medium size municipal agencies to get the same deal and possibly a large county agency. Buy some customers early and you can create a market for your product.

916 Sig pistols traded in for a value of $343,500.00, which by a remarkable coincidence is the same price of 850 holsters at $404.12.

I do find Sig amusing though. Literally a month or so prior to the p320 being publicly released they worked a sweet heart deal with my local SO for p220s. Basically cleaned out old inventory. Never once mentioned what was coming down the pipeline.

Good.

I have read a bunch about it and most people seem to really like it. It will be good to have a large agency see if there is any kinks in it.

I expect Texas DPS will follow by the end of the year though they likely will phase them in via recruit classes rather than do a wholesale change.

Does anyone know what ammo they chose in 9mil?

I lost round one to switch the dept I work for to 9mm (Glocks). While I have a list of solid ammo choices, I like to reference what "ammos" different agencies use when I try again next budget year.

thanks in advance

Sounds like it. Not so different than what Glock did back in the 90s.

Good for Sig.

Does anyone know which pistols were tested and compared to the Sig before it was selected for purchase?

This is great for Sig. I have heard nothing but positives about the P320, I have never shot one only handled one.

According to the solicitation, it was for striker fired pistols. Given the actual cost to the state, the guns "chosen" are close to being given away.

God, I hope so! They should be a dead-reliable, functional and performance competitor to H&K.

My agency is in the final stages of possibly doing a similar deal but for the 320 in .45. We're trading in our P220's towards the purchase.

Similar deal? Sig is providing Oklahoma almost $600 in hosters/pouches with each gun, as well as including an armorer's course and instructor training course. Get them to cut you the same deal.

We aren't buying near as many pistols so I wouldn't expect as good of a deal, but ours isn't too far off what's shown here from what I've seen.

I'll see if we can't get our deal sweetened up a bit tho.

The purchase order does not have a cost for the pistols. That should be a clue. Demand the same deal. Please let us know how it works out.

I pulled up the purchase order and its $404 for the pistol and holster included.

Is this for KCMO PD? Any idea what duty weapons are carried in the KC area?

It's not KCPD. The Metro has all different makes. I believe KC is running .40 cal Glocks, Independence is running Sig P226s in .357 sig, Blue Springs is running .40 cal M&P's, Lee's Summit is .40 cal Glock, Grandview is Glock 21's, Jackson County is .40 cal Glocks, Belton is Sig P220's, Raymore is Sig P226's, and we're running P220's.

OK. Got it, thanks. It would be illegal to do so here (or in any other EU country)

A much bigger deal would be to get the FBI to adopt the 320 in 9MM instead of the FBI staying with Glock. That would really sell a lot of pistols.

Platte County Sheriffs Dept (Kansas City, MO), just went to new pistols a few months ago. Well...kinda....old (very) G22s for new Gen 4 G22s.

It's been reported elsewhere one of the specs for the pistol other than striker fired and 9mm was a 17 round magazine. Other than the 320, that leaves 2 other pistols. Everything I've read about the 320 has been positive and I hope the Oklahoma troopers get a good weapon. However, no one should think logic and balanced testing goes into large agency weapons acquisition
