I just wanted to share this AMAZING little book with those that don't know about it yet. I guess you could look at it as a survival tool for everyday problems and also if the SHTF. Its called the "pocket Ref" by Thomas J Glover. I found out about this little book ( .875"x 3"x 5") while watching Mythbusters a few years ago. They apparently use this book on the show quite often for odd information about almost anything you could, or should i say couldn't think of. I just got a new house and have been using the heck out of the thing lately. I actually purchased 4 of them. one to my dad, one at work, one in my work bench at home, and one at my bed side......you know, just to brows through. just last night I used it to check if the type of PVC the previous owners used for some of the water lines were hot water capable, and what do you know, I found it in the book. There is no way for me to describe how helpful this little book has been in the past few years and HOW MUCH INFO is really in here. if your skeptical, look it up on you tube.

anyway. Just wanted to share

I saw this thread, and there just happens to be a copy of "Pocket Ref" (2nd edition) sitting on my desk right now, literally less than a foot from my keyboard. I got it in engineering undergrad about 12 years ago, and I've been using it a lot for my grad school work lately. I see they are on 4th edition now, might be time for an update.

after reading your thread I looked and sure enough I have two copies hanging around. They came from my late father's shop. I agree very useful at times.
