I apologize if I'm using the wrong thread. Trying to use this tapatalk app and it's not the easiest thing to work with. I'm hoping someone can help me out with an idea, rough estimates are fine, on the pricing of this m1 carbine. Any info at all would be amazing and greatly appreciated.

Need manufacturer/serial #, barrel markings, any stock markings, barrel condition, and more pictures. The average GI mixmaster with a good barrel, nice wood, and no issues is worth 850-950. Correct carbines with original barrels and finish can run 1500 and up depending on the variant and manufacturer.

I'll add some pics of the barrel markings later today. There's only two Marks that I don't have listed.

It looks like you have a Type 2 rear sight and Type 2 barrel band. Look under the rear sight for the manufacturer. If you can find stampings on the slide, trigger group, recoil plate, front sight, etc., I have a book I can refer to for manufacturers of each part.

Place a 30-06 cartridge in the muzzle and take a picture. That will give you a rough idea of muzzle wear.

I bought a Quality Hardware carbine a few years ago that had most correct parts and barrel muzzle erosion of zero for $800. The CMP forum website is a good place to view carbines for sale and their asking prices.

Let me know if more pics are needed. Looks like a Springfield at least for the stock. I'll check on barrel tomorrow when I Have a chance to pull it all apart. Again, thanks for all the info folks! I'll get that other forum.

See what is says above the serial number, under the rear sight. That is one of the biggest factors in determining value, other than condition which appears to be quite good and easily improved with some cleaning and BLO.

I can upload a picture later but the make above the serial says winchester.

Winchesters bring about $300 more than the Quality Hardware carbines. If the operating spring housing is detachable, that would make it an early model Winchester. Winchester barrels are marked either "W" or "WRA".

Examine the stock closely for a cartouche other than the cross cannons in the pictures. Check the area where the sling slips through the rear of the stock for stampings, initials, etc. Check under the grip area for a circle P stamp, which would indicate the carbine action in the stock at the time was proof tested.

Looks like a Winchester with the normal late features and upgrades. I'm going to put my guess between 1000-1200 based on the details that are up in the air. Very nice by the way!

Easy $1,000.00 Winnie, and if it has a Winchester stock on it add at least another $250.00 to it. I have a early Winchester M1 carbine, and it's the best 800 bucks I've ever spent, but that was three years ago. Winchester's tend to bring a premium over the other makers except for Rock-Ola.
