Gents, this isn't an attempt to promote my products, I'd like your opinion on something, I won't hotlink anything here.

Disclosure, my company does make the EMR (milspec blind hole) and EMR-C (continuous serrations, blind hole).

I belatedly realized the EMR-C bore some resemblance to the early AR10 mag release button. The EMR-C didn't draw inspiration from it, I designed the EMR and EMRC with horizontal serrations and a slight curve to mitigate undue vertical movement of the finger.

The early AR10 mag release button doesn't have a curve, and has finer serrations than the EMR.

The below picture show the original AR10 button, and the EMR (milspec through hole). Do you guys deem the EMR close enough to be a substitute for the original? The curve is very slight and can probably be flattened out if one wishes.

The EMR-C has continuous serrations and blind hole.

Thanks gents!

Looks close enough for me...
I'm going to pick one up for my retroish .308 build...
I think it will look good on my rifle...

Not for someone wanting to build a clone, but might be close enough for someone wanting to build a 'close-enough' retro rifle.

Thanks gents :)

The EMR and EMR-C weren't meant to mimic the early AR10 mag release button as mentioned above, I find it kind of funny that inadvertently, what's old is new again.

The early AR10 selector lever also looks a lot like the lever Battle Arms made.
