Ha. My Mom sent me the following. :D God bless my Momma'...

Happy 4th as you drink beer (or whiskey) and BBQ!

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunter/gatherers.

They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel.

Beer required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture.

Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can was invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

The wheel was invented to get man to the beer.

These two were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals.

2. Conservatives.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men evolved into women (i.e., Bruce Jenner). Others became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy Liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that Conservatives provided.

Over the years, Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass for obvious reasons.

Modern Liberals like lite beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard Liberal fare.

Another interesting evolutionary side note: many Liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their men.

Most college professors, social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, film makers in Hollywood, group therapists, and community organizers are Liberals.

Liberals meddled in our national pastime and invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink real beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women.

Conservatives are big game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, dentists, engineers, corporate executives, athletes, members of the military, airline pilots, and generally anyone who works productively.

Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production.

Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the Liberals remained in Europe when Conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history. It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to this post.

A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be shared immediately to other true believers and to just tick off more Liberals.

And there you have it. Let your next action reveal your true self. I'm going to have another beer.

The Liberal vs Conservative, Right Wing vs Left Wing rhetoric has gotten stupid... The unintelligent wield it as an insult depending on point of view.

Some day people will understand that people and view points are more nuanced than that.

Lol, you played right into this one. As a strong conservative I for one am glad we have such a diverse group of posters to include liberals such as yourself ;)

Exactly. I am accused by the "conservatives" that i know as being a "liberal" while the "liberals" that i know think i'm some kind of paid GOP banner waver straight ticket republican.

It would be nice if the world were so cut and dried.

Yep, same here

Bottom Line, I'm pro choice in ALL things and like reduced .gov

I'm pro 2A so some will call me a Wacko Right winger
I'm Pro choice so some will call me a Wacko Left winger
I'm pro separation of church and state so some will call me a Wacko Liberal.
I'm pro market and capitalism so some call me a Wacko Conservative.

The people saying "Crazy Conservatives" can't discuss the subject logically same goes for the idiots that use the "Stupid Liberal" label to some how insult people when they get backed into a corner.

It is just another method of trying to classify others into divides so they keep their deep seeded bigotry alive, they need it to live their lives for some reason and since race and sexual orientation are now off limits they will invent new ways of trying to look down on other groups of people to make themselves feel better.

Um you tend to use rather aggressive language with those who disagree with you (here and in other threads) - idiots, bigots, racists, traitors.

So according to your personal philosophy, you are "Pro-Choice on everything". You really need to rethink your apparent policy of "everything goes". By your logic you are down with NAMBLA (I don't think you are - just an illustrative point) and all sorts of other things? No limits, huh?

Dude, I get your general point. Most EVERYONE is quite varied on a scale of how they perceive a particular subject (social liberal vs. conservative, socialist/communist vs. capitalism, group vs. individual) - duh. You being scaled differently across various subjects is not new. However, in an attempt to keep communication brief, most here understand the BASIC difference between left and right leaning folks.

The problem is that there isn't a "basic" difference as was pointed out. Half the "conservatives" i know dont think people should be able to own "assault weapons".

Anyway, i'm going to go cook some veggie burgers and have some beers. have a great 4th.

This... but the point will be lost on most.

The most intelligent people in our country subscribe to neither ideology completely. They make decisions based on the topic at hand and don't follow the group think of one party like sheep.

I have met conservatives that I found to be every bit as frightening as liberals and vice versa.

Extremism in any form is problematic and an indication of someone who struggles to view things objectively. Most often I find people who subscribe blindly to either are doing so out of a deeper route issue of needing to 'belong' and be 'accepted' in a group. People who afraid to speak their own thoughts out of fear of the judgements of others.

After many years of listening to both liberals and conservatives, I have come to the conclusion that there are no liberals and no conservatives: There are only the mad and the tyrannical.
