Can anyone tell me what this "tab" is for? My google-fu must be weak today.

I thought at first it was for something similar to what the UBR has but I don't see accessories for it.

I've had this stock on one of my rifles for a couple years and wondered the same thing. My guess is that it's actually a reinforcement since that area could be used to butt-stroke.

AFAIK, it is not an extra feature, just part of the design.

That piece can be slid out and it looks like some accessory can be slid in its place.

Correct. I just can't find anything that replaced the black piece.

Perhaps it's simply what the posts above suggest.

It is designed to be replaced with a metal strike piece or a Pict rail (for monopod).

Thanks! Know where I can find this? Don't see it on Magpul's site
