View Full Version : 16" Intermediate barrel?
I was looking at Odin works 16" intermediate barrel. Any one use this set up in any brand? How does it function? I am looking to build the softest shooting 16" possible. Also anyone have experience with Odin works Barrels.
What is the intended use of this rifle?

Buy a quality 18" rifle gas barrel, put a Dragon on the front and A5 behind it. Get some good ear protection and have fun!
Other intermediates like noveske, knights, stretch16, mid south, all get excellent reviews and are soft shooting. I know little of Odin, but it should be fine.

I consider Odin to be of very good quality.

Odin's QC leaves a little to be desired. I would personally steer clear.
I was going to go 18" rifle gas but I would like to keep the weight down. I do have the a5 system for the build. What is QC?

An abbreviation for "Quality Control", usually.
Check out stretch16 then. They can be found on several websites.

Micromoa makes 16" rifle gassed barrels. Since its a fun gun you might want to give it a shot.
That said, its hard to beat the BCM ELW barrels for their lightweight, but also the profile makes them feel lighter (CG/Center of Mass towards shooter). My 16" ELW with a VG6 Brake was a very soft shooter.
I checked out the stretch 16 looks pretty good. While researching I read Odin works makes the barrels for the stretch 16? I also read that the first manufacture had chamber issues so they changed manufactures. Maybe the first manufacture was Odin works. Anyone know for sure?

Faxon makes a lightweight 18" rifle gas, doesn't break the bank too bad either.
A 16" intermediate gas barrel can suit some users well. My last ones were cut down Noveske barrels that did very well, but Krieger based barrels have been excellent. That with an A5 can make very good results. Some say it can be pseudoish SR15 inspired, but regardless they can run well.
I have a 16" Odin works intermid barrel for over a year it's been very accurate and reliable.
