Is the circled item on the left a norgon ambi catch? And who makes the bolt catch lever circled on the right? Is it sturdy as compared to say LMT's? Any US sources for it?

Sorry for stealing your pics Kevin, but you think you could tell me the specs on that barrel?

Its is a real (as opposed to the licensed Diemaco copy with less engagment surface) Norgon Ambi-Catch.

The boltcatch is an Armalite - they make it with a lot more "meat" - I've broken a few Colt/Diemaco ones in my time so I prefer a robust one.

The barrel:
Douglas 16" 1:7 Wylde Chamber profiled and chambered by CLE
done to SPR dimension under the handguard (.820 IIRC)
FDE coated
pinned and installed by Dave (coldblue) Lutz VP for MILOPS at KAC.

Kevin thanks for the info.

I like your weapon, the skateboard tape on the miad grip and kac forgrip gave me good ideas.

Any tricks to applying it to the miad and kac grip? Did you have to score the grips for the skateboard tape to stick?

Lastly whats the purpose of the norogon ambi catch? Is to to release the mag with your left hand?

The Norgon was a trial -- it then got adopted by the Canadian Forces - but is suffering mixed reviews (due to the Diemaco modification).

I dont use Ambi-Catches anymore as I much prefer the Redi-Mag.

I washed the plastic parts in Rubbing Alcohol to remove any grease or oils - and put the tape on. Occassionally it needs to be replaced due to me being a dumb ass and smashing the gun into something -- but it lasts a lot longer than the grip tape on my pistols.
