The M9 bayonet has been the topic of occasional debate, usually centered on it's durability, ability to hold an edge, or the fact that bayonets aren't exactly a heavily used piece of equipment any more. Reading the above GAO protest, the original M9 prototypes appeared to have gotten glowing reviews from the test teams. Funny how things flip-flop over the years :D

A bayonet is a fine weapon so long as you don't put it on a rifle.

Ive seen those bayonets break multiple times in training. It never seemed like a well designed bayonet.

Astute points; however, they do help the grass grow green.

They would have been better off, IMO, just directly cloning the AKM Type II bayonet, but with a more robust tip.

M9 bayonet is too heavy. I liked the M7 better.

The M9 was cool before the Army saw the Marine Corps OKC3S and didn't like it anymore.

Sorta like how they were content with woodland until they saw MARPAT

No, I don't think anyone likes that thing.

Actually I do, been meaning to pick one up for my 590A1. One of these days . . .

If I was in The Walking Dead one of my Kalashnikovs with Bulgarian bayonet would be my go to long-arm of choice.
