Besides the blue pen fire scratched receivers, what else cash I use in a pinch to cover the marks on a scratch receiver. My roll pin slipped when I was putting in the mag catch.

It didn't gouge it, but my eye sore.

Magic Marker. Aluma-black. Paint the receiver.

Will the Sharpe match or have that someone wrote on it look.

I've used the birchwood casey aluminum black on multiple receivers. It does a good job minimizing the appearance of scratches. If it's a fairly deep scratch it will only lessen the severity of the scratch, don't expect it to be perfect. I found that a couple applications works best followed by a light coat of clp when finished.

It's a kludge at best. You won't find anything that seamlessly matches. Unless you start from scratch and refinish the entire receiver, you have no choice but to just proudly display your gunsmithing skills.

OP: Congratulations, your rifle has some character marks. Go shoot it and get some more.

Great advice.

Aluma black will help to a certain degree. I agree with Vandal and Wicket Willis, take it out and shoot it, enjoy it and don't worry about it. We all make mistakes no matter how careful we are. Sometimes shit happens.
