Just got my first Armalite Ar10.Used from a guy who needed money bad to fix his truck.$900.00 bucks.I think it was a good deal. From what i can tell from the bolt assm. it looks to be the 98 to 2000 era rifle.Flat top A4 but the muzzle brake looks pinned and welded im sure for the ban that was on during the time.My question is I love the mk11 look and what kind of handgaurd can i use without taking off the brake to install.I know Larue is out.I love troy and have one on a ar15.Does troy make a ar10 version or someone else that can be installed the same way.Free float 2 piece?Other option is to cut off the brake that i dont like anyway.I would prefer a vortex. Is the barrel threaded under this?Any thoughts welcome. Thanks Thinking maybe I should just say F it and order a Noveske complete 18 or 20 upper and sell off the old one.

i would get this http://www.vltor.com/vis.htm that would be the best

other wise i do not know what a pinned brake would limit your choices

i am a retard

VIS is only for the ar-15 so never mind the beginning of this post

check out midway usa and bravocompany

both have tons o parts for them
DMPS Yankee Hill Daniel Defense

plus i would ask some guys in the big bore area of the forums as well some of the pics in the ar-10 forum are sweet
