I'm looking at acquiring a Para Ordnance handgun and have read online that Remington dissolved the brand a few months ago. I am not very familiar with handguns so the question is: what kind of support in terms of replacement parts and such can I expect now that Para Ordnance as a company no longer exists? Has the Para brand been around long enough that after market support may continue to some degree? I suspect "zero" is going to be the answer, but thought I'd ask anyway.

quick blurb about the dissolution back in February:

Para is straight junk. Save yourself the trouble and buy a quality gun.

Don't bother with Para anything. They were one of the worst 1911 experiences I ever had. Bought 3 and they each sucked in their own special way.

.... I am not very familiar with handguns ...

In that case I would suggest a Glock.

Seriously. Don't buy an MG Midget if you're not familiar with automobiles.
