View Full Version : Question for G43 Owners

I most always grab the slide and pull it back to load from a new magazine. However sometimes when using the slide stop (yes I know it is not designed for this) on the G43 to load from a magazine the bullet nose dives into the feed ramp and does not load. Those only does it with my hollow points (either ranger Ts, HST, or Gold Dots) but not with fmj. Has anyone else found this with your G43?

Thanks

I have never had this problem. I run 147gr Ranger Ts.
Check to see if you have the new revised magazines. There should be a #1 somewhere on them.

Magazine issue. I've seen this issue come up in other handguns as well and turns out it's the spring or follower most of the time.

I had it happen with reloads yesterday. They were loaded for my P.P.C. pistol. The C.O.L. of the reload was too long and the projectile rubbed on the inside front of the magazine.

It's never happened with any factory load or any of several other reloads and I passed the 1,800 round mark yesterday.

I use the slide stop lever to drop the slide, and have not experienced that with my G43.

Have you had the magazines apart?

Took all four apart and cleaned and same problem. They all however must be first gen as they don't have a 1 on them

Sorry to ask this, but after a search I can't find anyone that specifically sells the new g43 mags

I just ordered a couple from Midway USA. Had them within a couple days. They had the flat bottom and pinky rest versions.

Okay thanks. The ones I ordered several weeks ago did not have the "1" version on it

Were they properly reassembled?

The only difference between the non-01 and the 01 mag is external. Same follower, insert, spring etc... Just a slide external modification.

No feeding issues here. My 43 has chewed up about 250 rounds of bulk fmj, and 50 or so each of Ranger 127+p, 147, and HST 124s.

Also think a magazine failure.
