New mint condition SP1 w/ pics

Acquired original near mint condition Colt SP1 today with original Colt 3x20 scope. I am under the impression that this particular rifle was made mid to late 70's. I am absolutely thrilled about this find because it is all original and hasn't been modified and the scope is in perfect shape and came with manual and receipt from 1979. I paid less than $500 from a man who has owned it since at least 1979 and wanted to share. Not thrilled about the "666" serial number but think this will make a great addition to my small collection.

You basically stole that SP1. That is a once in a lifetime deal. Street value is 3 to 5 times that depending on what state you are in. I wish I could come across a deal like that just once. Very sweet SP1. You will enjoy having it. I have a pristine 1977 SP1 that looks like it has never had a round through it. I intend to keep it that way.

I have one like that I bought new in 1974, $225. Next purchase was the same scope. Only negative is no push pin up front.
Mine has been used to control deer in orchards, has taken about 100 over the years. Don't let anyone tell you 55gr FMJ's won't work on deer, even at 300 yds.
Had a drop in auto sear in the late 70's and now has A2 hand guards. Still going strong.

+1 to the above. Cherish that thing for what it is. I was just holding a well worn model (sans magazine since this was in Colorado) with a sticker price of $1699.
