I bought a complete lower and the RE sucks, so I'm looking for a good buffer tube/RE kit with a 7075 RE...what is a good option? Has anyone here used the Damage Industries kit?

BCM has a great 7075 receiver extension 6 position, and you can choose which buffer you want.

What's bad about it? You can't just drop a new spring and buffer in it to remedy it?

I went with the Rainier Arms kit

Check out the Rainier Arms kit, as previously mentioned. I believe it is on sale right now for $60. Also, it comes with an H1 buffer.

Here's the link: http://www.rainierarms.com/rainier-arms-milspec-buffer-tube-kit-coupon-code-sale

I've used them on two builds and I've had no problems.

Vltor A5 Kit. Not the cheapest but one of the best.

What sucks about the one you have?? If I were starting from scratch I would do the A5 setup.

It's a "milspec diameter" but it's 6061.

Another vote for the BCM kit it's hard to beat.

If you're buying the entire kit (tube, spring, buffer) I recommend you pay a little more and get an A5 kit.

They should do that with their A5 kit.

Yeah, if you need the whole setup, why wouldn't you?

That's why I went with the Vltor kit last time I bought one. You don't get to choose but it comes standard with the A5H2.

Yep, I bought the BCM RE tube but got the Vltor spring kit specifically for the heavier buffer.

I am using the Primary Weapons Enhanced Buffer Tube, not castle nuts required.

You just need to make sure you loctite the screws on this one. The upper screws started coming loose on my factory-built MK2 causing the tube to wobble.

Personally I don't think this tube is worth the money, even as a blem.

For anti-tilt receiver extensions I like the POF ones.

Could anyone pose an argument against a properly weighted and sprung A5 system in terms of span of function?
That would be difficult one to come up with.
In terms of function, I can see no reason to use a carbine type action system. If there is some other requirement that makes the A5 impossible for certain situations, they could very well be sacrificing function in the process.

Im at the point now where I see no reason not to just do Vltor A5 kit. It should just be the default for every gun, every config.
