Does this look normal? The optic has a black ring on the right side of the mounting screw hole. My fingers are too big to get a good feel but it doesn't appear to be an o-ring. Just black paint.
Seems strange to me to have something like this on only one side.

According to the pic on Midway's site this is normal. Wonder what it is/what it's for. Anybody...?

My FDE RMR also was like that. I assume that they used that slot to screw down the sight while Cerakoting the chassis, while the other one was left open.

Good call! They coat the bottom too...so there is still some mystery. All good though, I was more wondering if this was the norm vs. the why. Knowing the why is always nice though.
