Not actually. This is the new version recently released ($1399 list at SWFA). They received mixed reviews and several issue were reported. Not sure if they have them ironed out now or not.

I'll have to give this one consideration as well in my quest for the do it all optic for my Colt SOCOM II.

I'm sure Sport Optic will have a great price on these. OP, any thoughts on the optic? Clarity, daylight reticle and illumination visibility, tracking, etc?

OP a second on Josh's questions. Getting back into three gun and this optic might be what I am looking for.

More and more, I'm scared of new stuff.

I tried the VCOG, it had horrible diopter shift with magnification change issues.
I tried the T2, and while it was good, the 4 MOA shift I got when shooting irons through it was a bit...unique.

So I went and grabbed an "old school" variable, the Nightforce NXS, and wouldn't you know it? I had no diopter shift issues, the glass and reticle and target were all super clear, and you just don't hear of them breaking.

So my question is...

How proven is this optic? Who issues it? How long has Steiner been making LPV's with military use in mind?
