Hey guys,

I've got an older M&P40 full size I picked up not too long ago. I installed an Apex duty/carry kit and have been very happy, but it's old enough the sear housing used the 1/16" spring so the Apex kit spring won't fit.

I've searched all over the Internet and can't find the sear housing anywhere with the 1/8" opening for the older guys. Anyone have a line on one, or has anyone drilled it out themselves? I was thinking about that if all else failed.

Thanks.

Have you looked at Speed Shooter's Specialties? I used to get most of my M&P parts there.

Best place is above or Brownells for M&P overhauls I found.

You can drill your Sear Housing Block and add the larger sear spring and sear plunger.

TRY G&R Tactical under S&W parts. 9/40/357 parts interchange.

Thanks guys!

I hadn't heard of Speed Shooters before (first M&P if you couldn't tell), but they had one (albeit a stripped one). It's on the way to me.

Second question - when shooting it today if I inserted a full magazine with any force at all it would cause the slide to slam home, stripping and feeding a round. Normal for the M&P?

It's called auto forwarding. Happens sometimes but not often enough to rely on it. Enjoy
