I just sold the ubr off of this rifle and need a new stock for it. Right now the balance for it is terrible as yall could guess. It is a hunting rifle and would like to keep it under 125.

What did you not like about the UBR? Knowing this might help make better recommendations.

Without knowing the above, I've recently become a convert to the B5 Bravo. They're about $60.

Well I don't really care for how the cheek weld doesn't slide with the recoil plate. When I have it all the way extended, there isn't a spot for my cheek

To second the stock mentioned above, I really like my B5 Bravo on my recce-style rifle (16" BCM SS410). Inexpensive, but gets the job done.

I don't know?

Keeping it under $125 gets hard to do.

Any chance on bumping it up a bit

Does it have to be collapsible? If not switching to a rifle receiver extension, buffer and spring would give you more options. A bonus would be a smoother recoil impulse.

For that kind of rifle I like an A2 stock.

Cav arms A1

Remember when going to a rifle buffer and spring you get all the benefits of the vltor A5

I recently replaced an Emod with a B5 Bravo. Cheek weld is similar but I like the rotation limited sling mount in the B5 better. I plan to replace another Magpul with a B5 Bravo just for this reason.

Take a look at the LaRue Tactical R.A.T. stock. I have one on my RECCE build and I love it. It has some great features. They are on sale right now.

The cheek piece of the UBR has three locations it can be attached to. All you have to do is remove the four mount screws, move the cheek piece back to the second or third position and reinstall it. When I ran my UBR all the way out, I had the cheek piece set all the way back in the third position and got full use of it.

It looks like you run your stock all the way open because you have your scope mounted so far to the rear. I did the same thing because I didn't have a cantilever mount. After pushing the scope forward, I was able to shorten the stock a couple of notches and found it to be a much more comfortable shooting position

Why don't you wan't a fixed stock? looks...?
Most people who don't want a fixed stock have never shot a rifle that has one.

Your rifle's main purpose is for hunting, the Cavalry Arms A1 stock fits your needs perfectly, and it's length works great for shooters of all builds.
The stock, rifle tube and buffer assembly is well under $125

I have never shot an arplatform with a fixed stock before. I want an adjustable because I have been in shooting positions where being able to shorten the stock allowed the shot. I want it to be able to go down as compact as possible.

What is so great about fixed then?

I have two Recce rifles. Both running Vltor A5, one with an EMOD and one with a SOPMOD. Both are great stocks. I like the cheek weld on the SOPMOD a little better than the EMOD.

BTW, Got my B5 Sopmod from G&R

Well you wanted a stock with a solid cheekweld. Can't get much better than a fixed stock.

I just don't see any position you'd be shooting from while Hunting where an A1 length stock wouldn't work. I'm a small/medium framed individual and even I can get "nose to charging handle" on an A2 stock in different positions, which is 5/8" longer than an A1.

For collapsible stocks, however, I like B5's sopmod bravo, and enhanced sopmod stocks.

Another vote for an A1 for hunting & bench work.

If you need compactness, then you need to work on the other end some. Collapsible stock only takes so much off length, and majority of us don't deal with body armor. Do you jump out of a vehicle to take your shot?

Every now and then I put a m4ish upper on an A1 lower, and its just fun to shoot. And I think balances better, but you are a bit far from that with your upper.

Well although I don't plan on using this rifle for that. This one does have magnification with which my duty ar does not which means I might carry it on some occasions with body armor.

I replaced my UBR because it was heavy. Except for that, I loved the darn thing. I replaced it with a MagPul Fixed Length Carbine stock
