the Omega's are very strong. buy with confidence. even an idiot, such as myself, can install them in about 2 minutes.

by a "hand guard retainer" i assume you mean the Delta ring?

the set screws go through some holes in the Omega and screw directly into the factory barrel nut itself. they don't touch the D-Ring. even if it did leave marks on the Delta Ring, who cares??

i don't like gouging up weapons for no reason....but normal wear, like scratches on a D-Ring or brass marks on a shell deflector...that's just part of shooting (unless you're one of those cretins who put electrical tape or fuzzy velcro on their brass deflectors)

Doesn't hurt the delta ring at all:

I put an Omega on my N4 and am very pleased with it. It's very solid and tucks in nicely in the rack in my cruiser. I have some classes coming up so it will be put to the test soon enough.

Hi all,

I just installed one on my LMT 14.5"upper and it is very solid. I did have to tigheten up the set screws a bit after the first firing cycle, but that was to be expected. The only thing I noticed that seems different from most folks pictured set ups is that the top rail of the DD Omega did not come as close to the LMT upper forward edge as do most. It may just be a slight manufacturing difference or ???? However, that is not a big deal for me as my upper is covered there anyway with my Swan Sleeve. With my Surefire M910 light attached it is very soild and if I can pull the DD Omega loose, there is probably something else wrong. Overall, I would definately buy one again for the price and overall quality and sturdiness.

Take Care,

JJ
