Has anybody seen these before? I can't seem to figure out who makes them, or if they're worth a shit. I'm going to assume because the price is so good that they aren't, but hey maybe I'll get lucky

Unless it's just for Instagram photos, avoid.

Hell, the opaque mags from that company aren't good, and the clear ones are worse.

ETA: Those are ProMag. And regarding the price, Midway has them for $5 less....

Eh, no interest if they aren't reliable or durable. I do love my Lancer AWMs and was hoping there'd be decent Ak mags with the same concept

ProMag magazines might just be the worst boxed magazines ever produced.

Steer clear.

For playing at the range, I've had no problems with ProMags. I use their 5.56 and 7.62 AK mags as well as their HK93/C93 magazines. No issues. Granted I have plenty of steel and ((10)) mags as well. But I've had zero problems with ProMags over the past few years of using them.

From what little I know about AK mags, If it does not have metal locking tabs, not for serious use. For photo and Range use obly.
I have a Polish V-Project AK 74 mag and it is for informal plinking only.

I too have some of the earlier Polish V-Project mags that are black. They fit very tight in the mag well of my SGL-21 and will break if dropped or mishandled, its almost like the plastic is brittle. As for function they worked fine, but as mentioned by RWH24 these are range use only.

They will make some fine stocking stuffers if nothing else.:secret:

Got these... they're not completely clear but they're Polish and made by Radom:

All you need to know. The most rugged all poly mags (without steel reinforced lugs, and that is all that counts) are probably Tapco. magpul is a close second. But for serious use, Magpul with steel. Everything else is junk.

I actually thought that was a good write up and vid. Thanks for the info.

PF is one of the best out there - great vids and the right information. He did some on the MP and Tapco all polymer ones and then Tapcos did better on the drop test. I have done A drop test with the Tapco on concrete, and the lug did fine but the little tab on the follower sheered slightly. The best ploy mag deal out there now is MP with steel. $25 is a reasonable price. Tothtool is right there, but is heavier. CircleTens (gold plates) can now be rejected. Good stuff.

Eventually I'll get Magpuls but the clear Radoms aren't terribly expensive and my KUSA isn't my primary weapon.

$16-17 for a mag that won't hold up in an AK is not good money spent. There have been tons of deals out there for Steels that are less money and hold up. Tapcos can be had for $7 and are better, and MP all polys can go for $10, and are likely better. But, if you MUST have clear, so be it.

I got them for 10.00 ea... a buddy of mine never used them and they're new in wrappers. I reference RTG because it's the only place I've seen them. I buy mags when they're even if I don't have the weapon.

Lots of reply to "steer clear" without asking its use.

Clear poly mags are perfectly fine for range and casual use. I have a couple that came with my M92 pistol. No issues if you are just plinking or using for the range. But for serious use, stick with Surplus steel or Circle10 mags.

Plenty of people don't have "casual range use mags" If I am buying mags they will work "at the range" and in harsh conditions.

As AK mag prices increase you'll see it more. They've been much higher than equivalent AR mags (meaning both new and worth a shit) for years now. I see mags like Tapco's regularly for sub-$10 ($5 in one instance) and in those cases it makes sense to buy them as range fodder. Sorta like getting KCI Glock mags on sale

Plus, you know, it's nice to have mags that can gift malfunctions you don't have to setup yourself :D

If you have good reliable mags only, good for you.

I have both range mags and serious use mags. No harm in having both. Of course stack up more on the good mags, but its ok to have a couple of cheap range mags also.

AK Pmags Gen1 would be considered "range mags". Would that mean people shouldn't buy them???

You can buy new real AK magazines for less. If you want a lightweight AK mag go with a Circle 10 Bulgarian or Russian Bakelite.

Bulgy circle 10 is a goldplated over priced solution, and now completely unnecessary with Magpul Gen 3s. Otherwise buy three steels for one C10.
