458 SOCOM

It's been a while since I've seen much on this round. We have a 300BLK and it's fun sub-sonic with 240gr solids, but terminal ballistics are weak. With a SilencerCo Hybrid on order, sub-sonic 400-500gr .458 bullets sound a lot more potent.

Anyone running one with a can? How quiet is it? Any favorite expanding bullets? I know some of the .45/70 bullets expand at pretty low speeds.

Lehigh Defense has some great ammo or bullets if you are going to load your own.

What kind of can are you buying?

I am assuming you are doing some hog hunting?
