What do you think?

Are sales of guns/ammo going up per the thread title?

Plus, do you think a few liberals will buy firearms now?

I know the socialists in Europe are singing a new tune when it comes to guns, what with all the new scary folk heading their way.

Not right now. If (when is more like it) something happens here like Paris then you'll likely see a surge in gun/ammo sales.

People have been steadily buying guns as is.

IIRC Czech Republic and Austria had a run on guns last month and are sold out

Oh no. You've got entirely the wrong idea with your American barbarian mind set…

All those enlightened Europeans don't need guns and self defense. How inappropriately uncivilized it is for you to even suggest such a thing! Their government and police will protect them from all the lawlessness and heathens of the world. You know, just like at that concert the other night. Most of the concert goers made it out safely, and for those who didn't, well, that is the price a good European must pay to have such a "civilized" country, right? You can't have the good guys running around the streets of Europe with guns, for heaven's sake. That might make a few people uncomfortable… {shudder}

Americans and their guns… Sheesh!

In Europe? Yes, where citizens can, otherwise I would suspect high alternate defense measure sales.

In the US? The election will do that on it's own just fine.

I concur 2016 will be a banner year for gun sales, whatever Democrat gets the nod will be all for more gun control. If something high profile happens, I think some clueless types will decide they need a gun too...I remember in late 1999, my wife had some friends who were hard core libs, Bill Clinton was the best Prez ever, etc..But the husband was a computer geek and was convinced everything was going to crash on Y2K..He went out and bought a Glock and a 12 Ga..

Yes. It already was in Europe before these attacks. I think the attacks will spur more people in the US to buy guns for perceived protection needs. Never mind that the big cities most likely to be a target make it impossible or exceedingly difficult to legally carry a handgun.

All the election silliness will also contribute. The last 1-2 years have been an amazing buyer's market, but I expect we're entering into another cycle pretty soon, lasting through the election, and either stopping or intensifying after the election depending who wins.

Yes. Just keep saying it so people will know.

Yes and coupled with the latest round of anti-gun drum pounding I doubt sales will slow down anytime soon.

I'm not saying this had anything to do with it, but a still new in box S&W 5906 just crossed my path and was hard to say no... and I had to justify it somehow.

Our local county has observed DOUBLE the # requests for CCW permits in the last few days.

So yeah, I expect so.

You have to ask yourself "At what point do people wake up?"
Here you're preaching to the choir, I have a feeling if someone in France got a look at this place their minds would be blown.

Yep.

"You carry all those guns on your spare time. What are you afraid of?"

"Not a damn thing"

German pistols from the war are going for insane amounts.

This is just anecdotal evidence, and a sample of one, but I know of one guy here locally who for sure went out and bought an AR, some mags and ammo, and scoped the sumbitch and sighted it in all in one day after the Paris attacks and the threat of relocating Muslim refugees to the US.

Went to my local Cabela's on Saturday to stock up on BH's MK 262 Mod 1 as they are the only placet local that carries it.

The line to purchase a firearm/fill out forms/NICS was at least 50 people deep and I went about two hours before closing. One clerk told me it was that way all day.

As luck would have it I had a big purchase from BCM just two days before the attack as they recently got their BFH ELW KMR-A uppers all instock.

My Boss asked me some questions about buying an AR yesterday, wanted to know about what is the best deal and where can he go etc.
I offered to take him to the range several times, now he seems more enthusiastic and we will have to take a break and run out there when the rain lets up a bit.
When I asked him why now, as I have been asking him if he might be interested, he said "I don't think the way things are going my .Marlin 30-30 is going to get the job done."
When he asked what to get I recommended a Colt 6920 with an Aim-Point Pro and told him to look at G&R Tactical and read up on my advice to him here.
So it looks more like at least a sample of two.

Grant's also got smoking deals on Colt LE6920 OEM1s.

But for a few bucks more might as well get the stock, trigger guard, and hand guards on the 6720.

Grant has some great deals, I inquired about something the other day and just haven't had the chance to get back with him and work out the details. The list of stuff I want is growing daily, but I am seriously in to a remodeling thing at the house.
My Boss is a retired armament Tech and pretty much as OCD as I am about weapons, weapons systems and Cars. I'm sure he will be happy with the 6920 as I have the gear here to finish it off in a drawer in my workshop. Parts, parts parts.
He retires in December and this should be a good going away present to a guy who's really been a mentor.
