Just trying to deal with the reality of not being able to get to the range enough and realizing my draws suck. I carry a M&P with a RMR and I was looking at getting one of the airsoft blow back guns to work some with in the garage. I figure I can do draws with my unloaded 9mm, but without real feedback from hits, I just don't think I'll get as much out of it.

Anyone ever get a VPC M&P model slide milled to accept a RMR, or any other red dot? Is it even possible?

Putting a $400 red dot on a $150 airsoft gun starts to sound odd.

You might try airsoft knockoffs sights. I've done the same for training 'guns'.

I don't think the metal is thick enough on airsoft pistol slides to be milled. At least it is not on my two air soft Glocks with metal slides. Mine are made by KWA.

Have you considered a Laser Lyte training aid?

I have an early MP9 GBB airsoft and its a POS. Dont know who made it, but the thing wont run for shit and isnt accurate enough for anything other than maybe getting a hit on a IDPA/IPSC target at garage ranges. Its not guaranteed that a miss was operator headgap. As such its tits on a boar for me.

If youre wanting to work on your draw why dont you do it with the real gun and dry fire? You can use a timer, set a par time and be honest about having gotten a good sight picture before time expires.

Would a milled airsoft gun slide even be able to cycle with the added weight of a micro dot?

If it's the same one I have then it doesn't "cycle" at all. The slide can't even be moved. I don't know how it's built but the thing has 10K+ through only one mag. Zero issues and at $40 was worth the price.

Mine is a Cybergun licensed M&P40 made by KWC and uses CO2 mags. Not as good as my G&G CQBR Clone but that's asking for a lot from a $40 air soft gun.

Use your current gun and get better at calling your shots. Thats what the 'follow through' is supposed to be in the cycle of fundamentals.
