I was wondering if any one has any input on the Surefire MB556 Muzzle Brake/Adapter? I don't know if this has been talked about already or not.

I got two on order bro (you can buy one of them if you want), I plan to use one soon on my new 18" WOA 3gun barrel if we ever get them in stock.......

PS call me at the shop tomorrow, the 2nd annual JB fishing trip is sometime in Sept.

it's a great muzzle break. keeps the muzzle jump small and straight up. probably great for 3-gun, but the recoil pulse is harsh and goes straight sideways.

I cant wait to try it, i was thinking about putting in a Fighting gun. i have always used bird cage stile flash suppressors and was looking forward to trying something new.

A good friend has one on his 3-gun rifle. I got to put a magazine through the weapon. Shoots VERY nice, to the point I am probably going to put one on the next 16" upper I get. I hardly noticed any jump of the muzzle and follow-up shots were quick and easy. It felt like it recoiled straight back with no real up/down or side-to-side movement (IMO). When I was standing to the side and slightly back of him shooting, I expected to feel more blast than I did, as well. It was nowhere near as bad as I expected.

How about the FH556-212A Flash Hider/Adapter?

I've been meaning to order one for the past two months for my 10.5".

Thanks Nickdrak, that is some good info.
I am also thinking about putting it on a 10.5 SBR.

I haven't shot one, but a guy in a class last week had one and it is REALLY loud.

I've got the MB556K on a 16" MRP. It works well, keeps the muzzle jump down. My split times are better shooting with the brake. Several of the guys I shoot with run Miculek brakes. They seem to work slightly better, but are MUCH louder. And the blast to the side from the Miculek seems stronger.

Since I've got a 556K suppressor, I also use the Surefire flash hider mounts on my other guns. To my aging eyes, they seem to do a pretty good job.

As with all devices of this type, the blast/flash on these breaks is heinous. I saw one in action a week ago and was impressed. In the blazing sunlight the fireball coming out of the end of the muzzle was huge.
