Bushnell Elite LRHS 3-12x44 Review

I just took my new LRHS scope out for the first time. Here's some background and a brief review.

I'll start out by saying Bushnell knocked it out of the park with this scope.

I'm replacing a SWFA SS 3-9HD with this scope. I absolutely loved the Super Sniper, but it was time for an upgrade.

I'm using this scope on an 18" WOA SPR barreled upper. This SPR/DMR style gun is a joy to shoot. I found it getting less range time because the 3-9 scope didn't provide much more optical performance than my Vortex Razor 1-6 on my 3gun rifle. Being able to go to 12x with the LRHS is a nice upgrade.

The glass is exceptionally clear. I know this is subjective. To my eye it's just as good as my Vortex Razors (Gen2 1-6 & Gen1 5-20)

There is no tunneling effect, and the eye box is forgiving even maxed out on 12x.

The adjustment clicks are tactile and precise. The zero stop is easy to set and works great.

The zero on the windage can be reset without tools. Once the cap is removed you just dial, then pull turret to allow for reset at the zero line.

I didn't do any serious testing of the adjustment tracking. I was able to zero in couple of shots reading the reticle so that's good enough for me right now.

The G2H reticle is awesome. It has just enough information without being too busy and obscuring the target.

The 10mil/rev elevation turret with the zero stop and large arrow on top is my favorite feature. I can dial out to 850 yards in one turn, then crank back to zero with ease.

I can't wait to get some more trigger time on this gun/optic combo.

What app is that?

I have the same scope and mirror your findings although the eye box seems a little small. It's also a little heavy (2 lb mount and scope combo).

That's a great looking setup! You're right about the weight. It is a little heavy.

i have one of these on a tacsol lt22 upper. i use the combination to kill pest sized animals, mostly pigeons with aguila super colibri rounds.

the set up is also great for hunting small game. the lt22 shooting cci sub sonic rounds with this level of magnification can print dime groups at 50 yards and the trajectory for subs doesn't change too much from 50 to 70. the ffp of the scope is very useful (and a killer value for this price point). i have 3 dope charts taped to the gun. one for aguila super colibri, one for cci sub sonic and one for cci standard. i developed the dope charts using the scope and obviously can always use them at any magnification because of ffp.

using the dope, knowing range and cranking to full magnification, i shot a dove at 35 yards in the upper back. no mess in the meat, and dropped the bird immediately. i only wish i had more opportunities to go after more dove.

the LRHS is an AWESOME scope
It will hold it's own up against scopes costing a lot more.
Me and a buddy both run one on our hunting AR10s.

George Gardner with GAP had a lot of input into what makes a good hunting scope for guys that are used to running high end tactical scopes on LR guns.
It's the scope I have pestered other manufactures to make.

We have tested out hunting into darkness against Nightforce, Mark6, Khales, Premier, S&B, etc..
If it didn't perform we wouldn't be running it.
