6.5 creedmoor barrel

hey guys where is a good place to get a barrel for a 6.5 creedmoor build? I am building a precision rifle to take out to 1000yards so accuracy is important. I have purchased the rainier arms ultra match barrels for 5.56 builds but not sure how great they are for taking out to distance. Plus they list the gas system as rifle plus 2" so it has a proprietary gas tube?? Any help would be great!

Criterion is the best deal for a turnkey 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. They are available through Fulton Armory. I have used multiple of their barrels with excellent results.

If you wanted to improve over that, it would be big $$$ for something built on a cut rifled blank, and would likely be semi custom anyways.

I would also suggest using either a AR-10 or JP high pressure DPMS pattern bolt given the operating pressures of the 6.5 . You still won't be able to load as hot as a bolt gun.

You can get Krieger from Fulton Armory, but they arent threaded.

I went with a JP with matched bolt. Hits to 800 were EASY. Out to 1000 and 1200 I am not good enough to hit out there, but the spotter said I was fairly close, just not my day. Im certain the gun is capable of it.

I have one of the Kreigers from Fulton Armory and it was threaded with the barrel extension installed shoots very well for gas gun. I shot a 1 1/4" four shot group at 385yards the other day before it turned crappy and cold.

Did you get the 26" Rainier Arms barrel? Their 22" barrel has a regular rifle gas system.
