Its a .308 bolt but dosent have a standard cotter-pin for taking out the firing pin, probably pretty simple but dont want to mess it up.365543655336552

Not much to "mess up" and looks pretty standard to me. Remove cam, bolt and then firing pin retainer and voila - field stripped the bcg. Good luck

Looks like a split pin. Remove just like a cotter pin.

You will be fine.

found a picture of your firing pin retaining pin split type http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/bolt-parts/firing-pin-parts/firing-pin-retainers/308-ar-firing-pin-retaining-pin-prod44369.aspx

I think that might be a DPMS LR-308 bolt carrier. I had a DPMS 308 a while back, and it had the same type of cotter pin thing.

The original designed firing pin retaining pin was not a cotter pin, but rather like the one above.

It's a solid firing pin retainer... you're not supposed to punch it all the way through and it keeps you from losing the pin.

It's a DPMS LR-308 BCG. You can also tell by the big "D" stamped on the carrier on the left side.

The FPRP comes right out.
