I'm editing this post I made here, because I don't want to subject everyone to a lengthy tantrum and my sob story. Suffice to say, I just send in the forms, and just realized two-page forms are not acceptable. I'm a bit frustrated that the NFA process turned out to be a bit more complex and lengthy than I expected. Nuff said...wha...wha. Besides, the gun forums are always a good place to go for sympathy ;-).

I believe so, the web page I printed my form 1s on said they needed to be on the same page. If they cashed your check you are cool, they will just send them back to you to fix when they get to them. A little longer on the time, but not to the back of the bus.

I believe that all two page Form 1's or Form 4's are being returned.

When you get it back.....
Just stick the first page in the copy machine and feed in the
2nd page with the Law Enforcement Certification.
Copy the first page to the back of the 2nd page.
All signatures will be originals!!!......Your good to go!!!!

Absolutely not trying to be a smart ass here but after reading your last post NFA might not be for you.

To me it's a simple process. It's really nothing but a little more paperwork as long as you can get a CLEO signature (discounting corps and trusts). Everything is just a waiting game.

I just got transfer approved on an item. But even so with gas prices being what they are I opted to wait a couple extra weeks to pick it up from my C3. I had to make a trip to his neck of the woods anyway on a certain date so decided to just kill two birds with one stone.

I guess with thinking like that I can say I've definetly mastered patience.

Well, some folks are telling me that if the ATF returns your form that they wil;l cash your check. A refund will take 3-6 months. Well, if that is the case I might as well go ahead with the filing. It will just take time. Oh well. Live and learn. Maybe by the time my forms is actually approved Noveske will be making the N4 light upper in 10.5".

Bananas,

No offense, but why don't you call the NFA people and find out what the real deal is. It seems that others have had good luck in contacting them and resolving issues. Just slow down, find out what if anything went wrong, fix it and then just wait.

Iraqgunz,
Great idea. I've actually called the NFA branch before when I had a question or two. They were polite and helpful.

First thing Monday mornin' I'm going to give them a call, briefly explain and see what they say. But, If they tell me that they have zillions of forms flyin' in everyday, and that they can't go swimming through them to find just one for a bonehead (me) that sent in a two-page form. Well, I certainly won't hold it against em. Either way, I'll have a better idea of what I need to do to remedy the situation. Although I'm a little nervous about what the CLEO (Sheriff) will do, I can't be the first person in my area to have a Form1/4 rejected (at least, I hope not;)).

I hope I didn't make you edit your post, that was never my intention.

On the CLEO thing. I'd be simply straight up with him and say exactly what happened. You made a simple error on how the form should be submitted. Explain that this is the exact same item that he signed for before and nothing has been altered or changed regarding it.

I think you'll do fine with it.

Hey there One,
Nah, your post didn't make me delete or change my OP. Nothin' wrong with your post. I just got to thinkin', after I simmered down, and I figured that pissin', moanin' and bitching in a post is well, un-m4carbine.net-ly. This isn't a forum for venting. If I had questions then I should post em, and without the whining. Doesn't do anybody any good, least of all me.

Good advice on the CLEO. Always be upfront and honest. I'm not sure what their rules and regs will be, but whatever they are I'll follow em.

In the mean time, I just ordered a Sig 556 Pistol from a local dealer. I'm not sure yet if it can be easily SBR'd. If so, I might just Form 1 it:eek:. Only this time, I'll be sure to it's all one page:D.

I did the same thing - it's not as big a deal as it seems. The NFA folks will send you the correct forms and are usually very good at addressing the resubmission once it comes in.

Hey guys,
I'll be interested in your opinion on this. I called the NFA branch this morning, and explained the situtation to the guy that answered. He got my last name and told me which examiner would be getting my Form 1s. He said that the easiest and fastest way to solve this issue would be to corretly fill out new Form 1s, have the CLEO sign it, and then send em in with a note to the examiner.

It strikes me that it may be the best idea to just wait and have it returned. What if I send in the new ones and they are lost, or the wrong examiner gets them, or the cover page explaining the situation is ignored, lost or misplaced. Well, what do you think?

I think that if you are really concerned about this I would take the advice from the person at NFA at do what was suggested. Send everything delivery confirmation w/ signature requested (if possible) and you should be good.

In the future consider getting schooled on doing a Trust and you can avoid Mr. CLEO and some of the BS time.

Just my 700 Fils.

My advice would be that when you send in something like this you just forget about it completely once it's in the mail. If there is a problem with the paperwork (like there is with yours) then you will get it back when you get it back and you can then correct the problem and resend it and it will be completed within a very short turnaround according to everyone I've talked to that has ever had a paperwork issue. But don't obsess about it and get all ADD trying to figure out how to fix it now, just let it go man, it will all eventually work out for you.

Well, they cashed my check yesterday. So, hopefully, that means it will be returned to be in say, 4 weeks or so.
