I have searched her and gotten the best info I can find on the Steiner 1-4 rapid dot. But I have some specific questions I wanted answers to before I bought one. 1. Can someone explain to me, or direct me to more info on the illumination? Specifically the, Timed Shut off? How long till it shuts off? Any Constant On option? And 2. Real time feedback on performance, durability from people that have run it hard?

Thanks

Ive had one on a duty/SWAT rifle for about 1 year, it doesn't get babied and its still going strong with no issues. I like it a lot. Get it, you wont be disappointed.

Con:
1. Big
2. Heavy
3. Low power
4. Illumination controls just a tad funky

Pro:
1. Great glass
2. Military grade
3. Good eyebox
4. Daylight bright
5. Price

They are not state of the art but if you can live with
the trade offs they are a heck of lot of value at $700.

Thank you both.
What do you think of the auto shut off? Can that be by passed? Is there a constant "On?"
How long do you have until it shuts off?

Also what is battery life?

No clue on the auto shut off, it has the off setting between each level which is what I use.
I replace the battery every 6 months because I use it on duty/SWAT.

It's fine without the illumination.
