View Full Version : Stock?
When the the stock is closed flush against the castle nut , should the receiver tube be even with the stock?
COJAM,
Generally speaking, every carbine that I have seen that was properly assembled, the buttstock was flush with the rear of the lower receiver extension aka Buffer tube.
I was just wondering because I just finished my CD lower with a BCM Stock kit and it doesn't fit flush. I can actually see that the buffer tube is shorter on it than my ADS.No big deal though, I just wanted to know. Thanks.
The BCM stock kit has a mil-spec extension and I thought that those were shorter than comercial.

On my LMT's with mil spec stocks, the lower reciever extension does not sit flush with the stock. On my Bushy's with commercial parts, they sit flush.
Thanks all for the replies,my question has been answered. Well I guess the ADS isn't Milspec in buffer tube / receiver ext.
Typically most are flush, but there are some commercial ones out there of unknown manufacture that aren't flush by about 3/4".
