NightForce 1x4 NXS Mil-Dot ZS scope for Long Range use?

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has used the NightForce NXS 1x4x24 Mil-Dot ZS scope at ranges up to 500M?
Just build up another AR15 Spr rifle for Canadian service rifle matches and was wondering the Viability of this scope for long range use to 500 meters?

not ideal, 1-6/8 would be more appropriate

Ive shot my NF 1-4X with FC 2 reticle out to 760 yds. It was doable on a uspsa full sized steel target. We had a half sized uspsa steel at 500yds and it could be hit easily with that reticle. Match ammo out a Noveske afghan but the scope didn't hold it back at all.

Delta Elite how do you like the FC 2 recticle? What ammo were you using out of your Noveske?

Mickey sorry I missed this post, for the record ammo was 77SMK hand loads IMR4895 powder. And I like the FC2 reticle as it's fast on the close stuff and not to busy but it gives you a couple hold overs in there as well.

Thank you for the reply. I picked up a NF 2.5x10x32 ZS with LV reticle, works great. After a lot of load testing found a great 75 gr load. Should work good for service rifle matches to 500M.

I have the same optic, but with the FC-2 reticle. At 100 yards, I can shoot pretty well with it (1.5MOA or so), but I really do find myself looking forward to my 1-6 variable when it arrives. 1-4 doesn't look a whole lot better than my 3x G33 magnifier, and in fact, I don't shoot much/any better with it, either.

Sorry, my reading fail. You will love this option for the longer distances.
