I don't think that you can buy the Colt 6940 folding FSB. Specialized Armament might have them but you would probably have to call them.

A.R.M.S. has a folding FSB but you have to call them to get the pin on version.

Vltor makes one. Might find a KAC floating around too.

I personally would be leery of the clamp style offered by GG&G, MI, PRI, Yankee Hill, etc. the risk of smacking the sight, spinning it and shutting off the gas is something I don't want to deal with. I'd much prefer the KAC style (http://www.operationparts.com/kac-knights-armament-locking-front-folding-sight-fits-sr15-sr16-m16-ar-15-with-0-750-inch-barrel/) that must be drilled for a taper pin like a standard A-frame front sight. Vltor offers both style.

The pinnacle Vltor one has been discontinued as far as I know. I will try and verify.

The Colt unit is extremely well made. Folding, locking (optional), has a bayonet lug, taper pins, and uses standard front sight posts. It's basically flawless. The only caveat is that it's designed to use Colt's straight gas tube. So if you get that front sight, make sure you get the gas tube, too.

I can attest to the robustness of the A.R.M.S #41-BL. I have it on my frankenbeater and it has yet to exhibit any problems whatsoever after years of use.

^My experiences mimic yours above. I had one on a Noveske upper and it performed admirably despite it being a clamp-on.
