Holy Moses....it has been a long time since I've needed to buy any 7.62x54R to feed my Mosins, and I went shopping this morning for my favorite spam can ammo....and....holy crap. It is hard to find any of it and the stuff available now is going for well over 40 cents a round.

What do you guys think of this auction on Gunbroker? The guy may be hyping it a bit, but .... seems ok, your thoughts?

While I have no idea of prices for that type of ammo, the seller seems OK.
Kind of funny he does not want to break Gunbroker rules, but asks you to break PayPal rules.

Surplus ammo dries up.

So do rifles.

Have you tried to find a mosin lately?

No, not recently. There are plenty out there, but I bought mine four years for just under $100, directly from a crate imported from East Wherever, former USSR.

Looking at Gunwatcher, prices are definitely up!

Wow! I remember Gander Mountain selling them for $99 just 2-3 yeas ago. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay...

X54 did go up but that price is just wishful thinking. It's around $120

Think of it... the only thing comming into the country is ammo made specifically for commercial sale. Why??? Look at Ukraine, Russia, and the Middle East.

That should answer why noone has the surplus, and those who do are charging insane amounts.

I am very glad I stocked up on Lapua 54R brass when I found Lapua's outlet offloading the stuff in old packaging. I really miss that website!
