I went to my favorite LGS last Saturday and I fell in love with another sig. I tried not to buy it, I swear lol. Well I thought about it all day yesterday and this morning I had to go back and pick this baby up. I was torn between a p227 sas and a p220 compact. I ended up with the 227 sas. I really loved the compact but honestly with the E2 grips the P227 felt damn near as slim as the P220 compact and for almost double the capacity the slight difference in thickness was worth it to me. I will most likely end up with the compact as well. The dehorn job on these new sas guns is really really nice. Now I just need to order a new body for my MTAC and I will be set.

I put 100 rounds through it yesterday, it was a bit rough as the temps were in the low teens and there was a pretty good wind. I decided not to shoot for any real accuracy so I only shot at some steel and a few water jugs. My first impression is that the grip really locks into your hand, the gun was 100% reliable and it really is a tack driver. The recoil is very soft for a 45 and the action is buttery smooth. I can't wait to put a few more boxes of ammo. I was only shooting winchester white box 230 gn ammo but next time I am going to run some HSTs through it, I anticipate no problems except running out of ammo.

That's a real beauty! It looks like they stuck it in the microwave and melted all the edges right off it..

You did real well. What did it set you back at a LGS?

About $863 out the door.

You did well with that purchase. If I may, you may want to try Bruce Gray's Precision Intermediate Trigger. This especially true if you get a little bite from that short reach trigger. The PIT is just thick enough to prevent bite and eliminates over travel. Combined with the SRT you get the best DA/SA pull and reseat out there.

I'm going to give it another 500 or so rounds and see but no problems as of yet. It eats 230 gn hst +p like candy. What I wish I could get is a flat trigger.
