Anyone have a source for 59-series (specifically, 5906) factory grips?

I'm looking for the factory curved backstrap grips to replace the straight grips on my 5906 and my Googling has been completely unsuccessful.

I'd also be interested in any aftermarket grips that don't add any real bulk, but have a palm swell similar to the factory curved grips (Glock shooter here).

I absolutely love this gun, but the curved-back grips would make it perfect in my opinion.

Thanks!

dt,

Numrich is out but Gunbroker has 3 listed in their pistol parts section from $15-32- type in "Smith 5906 grip." The 3rd gen Smiths are tough to beat.

Thanks oldandslow.

And, like clockwork, two hours after I posted this I got a product in stock notification from Midway.

Thanks anyway guys.

When you receive the new 5906 grip, please let us know if there is a punch mark on the bottom of the grip.

Will do when they get here next week - I'm looking at my 5906 right now with the straight grips and don't see anything that resembles a punch mark...could you explain what I'm looking for so I know for sure.

Newer grips have a punch mark at the base between the frame and take down pin. The original manufactured grips could break and release the main spring if the weapon was dropped, which would make the weapon inoperable. S&W released a newer grip made out of tougher material, which is identified by the punch mark.

Ah great info, thanks for that. Turns out my straight ones do have it.

I'll let you know.

Received them today. They do have the punch on the bottom of the grip. And they feel much, much better.

Thank you.

When I shot the 5904 in PPC matches, a 125g RNL bullet at 1,000 fps was a very accurate reload at 25 yards.

Thank you! I'll have to build that up. It's a great shooting gun as-is, I hope to get it out this weekend and see if I'm a little better with the different grips.

Great pistols. As far as I'm concerned I'd rather carry my 5906 or 5903 than a M&P.
